« CRACKMIND : AUTHENTIC, HARD-ROCK, METAL »

« BAC(k) in time » Created in 2000 by Normann [vocals] and Alcatraz [guitars], CRACKMIND take the time to seriously elaborate their musical project. During 5 years, the band learns to work in a self-sufficient way, building its own studio and getting familiar with the sound techniques and the graphic production. In 2006, after 3 demos and several changes, the line-up stabilizes with the addition of Lloxan [guitars] who brings another strong brick in the wall of guitars and Lumber Jack [drums] who makes the rhythm section sound stronger. In 2007, CRACKMIND release their 1st album, « Call MIND-1-1 ».

« Call MIND-1-1 » With « Call MIND-1-1 », CRACKMIND set up the basis: a powerful, dynamic, melodic and always catchy music with deep sound, tight riffing and leads, intense rhythm and a strong and emotionnal voice. From the 70’s to Hard-Rock, from Grunge to Metal, the band merges all the rock energies to develop its own style. With the first 1000 units, the record meets an enthusiastic response and draws increasing attention for the band from the audiences and the professionnals. The album is distributed by several detailers in France with Great Dane Records, is available for shipping with the european label Brennus-Music and is digitally available on the classic virtual shops with Wild Palm Music. After 8 months, the album is sold out! 1000 more units are released at the beginning of 2008 and the projects get bigger. The band plays South-America (Ecuador) in february on an incredible festival in front of an 8000-people-energetic crowd.

« A Rose May Fly… » Since May, it’s now with Max on bass that CRACKMIND continue to develop their sound. In september 2008, the band releases its new Ep, a direct “straight-in-your-face” record called « A Rose May Fly… ». With 1000 units released, this disc strengthens the positive impression created by « Call MIND-1-1 » and allows the new member to find his place. It also mainly prepares the production of « Born Again Crackmind » and announces its release.

« BAC(k) to basics » Technology transformed the way to record, produce and spread music. In 2009, two possibilities seem to come up. The first one favours a « computer-oriented » production and an internet diffusion with mp3 files. The second one gets back to the basics… As some of the most respected bands like Slayer, Mastodon or Metallica, CRACKMIND opt for a powerful but still natural production and a diffusion that specially considers the object. In full conscience of this choice and with confidence, the band asks to two growing talents in France to work on « Born Again Crackmind ». Olivier T’Servrancx (Electrik Box - Black Bomb A, Darkness Dynamite,…) takes care of the recording duty and Rémy Deliers (Addhenteam - Gojira, Demians, Darkness Dynamite…) is chosen to mix and master the album. Today, the project is still in the mixing stage and CRACKMIND are actually searching for partners ready to build things up with them: distribution, management, booking…

« BAC(k) in time » Créé en 2000 par Normann [chant] et Alcatraz [guitares], CRACKMIND prend le temps d’élaborer sérieusement son projet musical. Pendant 5 ans, le groupe apprend à travailler de manière autonome, en montant son propre studio et en se formant aux techniques du son et de la production graphique. Ainsi, en 2006, c’est après 3 démos et plusieurs recompositions que le groupe se stabilise avec l’arrivée de Lloxan [guitares] qui ajoute une brique au mur de guitares et celle de Lumber Jack [batterie] qui renforce puissamment la session rythmique. En 2007, CRACKMIND sort alors son 1er album, « Call MIND-1-1 », qui marque une évolution importante.

« Call MIND-1-1 » Avec « Call MIND-1-1 », CRACKMIND pose les bases : une musique dynamique, mélodique et toujours entraînante. Gros son, riffs denses et solos incisifs, rythmes enlevés, voix puissante et profonde… De l’influence des années 70 au Hard Rock, du Grunge au Metal, le groupe canalise toutes les énergies et développe son propre style. Sorti à 1000 exemplaires, l’album trouve rapidement son public et l’oreille attentive de professionnels. Il est ainsi distribué en magasins par Great Dane Records, en VPC par Brennus-Music et numériquement sur toutes les plateformes habituelles (Fnac, Virgin…) par Wild Palms Music. En 8 mois, l’album est écoulé ! 1000 nouveaux exemplaires sont alors pressés début 2008 et les perspectives s’élargissent. Le groupe joue notamment en février 2008 en Amérique du Sud (Equateur) devant 8000 personnes au festival FFF d’Ambato.

« A Rose May Fly… » En mai 2008, c’est avec Max à la basse que CRACKMIND continue à développer et affirmer son style. En septembre 2008, le groupe sort sa nouvelle carte de visite, un Ep direct et efficace de 4 titres intitulé « A Rose May Fly… ». Distribué à 1000 exemplaires, ce disque permet de renforcer l’impression positive laissé par « Call MIND-1-1 », d’intégrer la nouvelle recrue au line-up et surtout de préparer la production de « Born Again Crackmind » et d’en annoncer l’arrivée.

« BAC(k) to basics » La technologie a transformé la manière d’enregistrer, de produire et de diffuser la musique. En 2009, deux voies semblent pourtant émerger : privilégier une production « informatique », dite moderne, puis diffuser du mp3 sur internet ou revenir aux fondamentaux… A l’instar de quelques gros groupes actuels comme Mastodon, Slayer ou encore Metallica, CRACKMIND préfère s’orienter vers une production puissante mais naturelle et une diffusion qui accorde un soin particulier à l’objet. Conscient de l’enjeu et confiant, le groupe confie la réalisation de « Born Again Crackmind » à deux valeurs montantes en France : Olivier T’Servrancx (Electrik Box - Black Bomb A, Darkness Dynamite, Glowsun, Monroe Est Morte, Zoe…) pour l’enregistrement et à Rémy Deliers (Addhenteam - Gojira, Demians, Darkness Dynamite, Om Mani, Clampdown…) pour le mixage et le mastering. Actuellement, le mixage de l’album est en cours et CRACKMIND cherche des partenaires intéressés pour participer à son projet : distribution, license, management, booking, dates de concerts, festivals…
