Hi and welcome to my little area! Thanks for dropping by! My name is Craig and I’m a freelance Drummer based in Surrey. I’ve been so privileged to work with some wonderful people in my time drumming over the years and I can genuinely say that I love my job. Please have a look at my pics or blogs on myspace to see what I’m doing and with who! Every day is a new challenge and I love the fact it takes me in different directions and always opens up new horizons. It’s been a crazy year this year since I set up my teaching studio, I am getting a tremendous satisfaction in watching my pupils get better and watch the way they now approach their instrument. Apart from many projects on the go, I'm currently working with David Cross from King Crimson. We're going on tour in February and recording a live DVD. it’s been an amazing experience playing with these guys. It looks like a UK date is finally on the horizon and a DVD shoot also. I took a bit of time out on clinics last year to work on my set and try fresh approach, so the next batch and new routine starts very soon in Europe, there are a few in the UK which I will post on my blog when I’m on my travels. I’m now doing most of the V-Drums demonstrations for Roland so please make sure you visit Roland’s website for future events. The two worlds collide DVD project with Adrian Erlandsson is still ongoing but likely to be finished next year as both our diaries are pretty full.“External units” album is now at the mix-down stage, so it should be out around Marchtime, I'm really happy with what I played on this album, please check it out at www.myspace.com/externalunit. I’m still working on my book and music DVD and again with this year’s workload is likely to be mid next year when it is released. I can actually say though, when I started planning it, I didn’t just want a book you play front to back, I wanted a book that hopefully is a bit different, please see more info in my blog...Finally after thinking this year was going to be all about playing prog rock and soloing in 17/16, I’m honoured to say that I’m playing drums on the new Rebel MC/Congo Natty album. This is collaboration with all of his friends and influences, from what I’ve heard so far is just amazing. Please check out next month’s issue of Drummer magazine for my interview and three months worth of tuition is now on the front cover DVD of Rhythm magazine. As always it’s great to hear from people on my travels and I’m sorry if I don’t get to reply to you all in person, it just gets a bit crazy! I want to thank you “all” over the years for your tremendous support on my travels, I couldn’t ask for more, its genuinely humbling what people “write” “say” and “do” and makes it all worthwhile for me to inspire people from all walks of life to enjoy music and look at the bigger picture. If you want more information on what I do, please visit www.craigblundell.net Finally a big thank you to the companies that I work closely with as they support me 100% wherever I am in the World, Mapex Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Roland, Sennheiser Audio, Vater Drumsticks, Aquarian Drumheads, Bose Audio, Protection Racket Cases, Bigfoot Beaters, Baskey Ruglugs see you on my travels..........C
