ASTEP uses the arts as a tool to empower young people with creativity, knowledge, and a strong sense of self-esteem, factors which help them advance their lives and communities. At ASTEP, we provide artists with opportunities to connect with global youths, allowing them to use their gifts to create meaningful and effective change for young people in need.
我想認識:
We are in search of generous souls who want to join us in our efforts to create a better life for impoverished children everywhere. By teaching them to open up their young imaginations through the magic of art, music, and creation, we will generate passion and restore hope to the future of our world...the children.
We are excited to have you with us in whatever way you are able to help!
A Conversation with Quiara Alegria Hudes on November 17th at 6:30pm at Teatro SEA (107 Suffolk Street, 2nd floor).
This will be a conversational symposium celebrating the creative process of a writer through the story telling from Puerto Rican writer, Quiara Alegria Hudes, who wrote the book for the Tony Award Winning Musical, In the Heights. This conversational symposium will focus on how story telling is developed, shaped and affected by collaboration, mission and the responsibility of giving real Latino work to our Hispanic artists in the NY industry.
This event is perfect for aspiring writers and performing artists to attend, and finally have the opportunity to ask those questions they feel are always left unanswered.
“R.Evolución Latina’s goal is to help members understand that we are special, unique and valuable and that only by letting our own light shine that we will empower others to shine as well. By gathering a strong group of artists into the philosophy to “Dare to go beyond” we will be able to affect our Hispanic community while presenting works that inspire and motivate our people.
Yes Homestead was indeed amazing. I am so glad to have been apart of it. I plan to be there next year prepared for every and any thing. Thank you for changing my life.
