Cryptik Howling c'est le miroir de notre société, interprété sous une forme de cas par cas à propos des comportements et des émotions humaines par l'entremise de la musique et de la poésie. Parfois dans la peau de ses personnages principaux, parfois simplement eux-mêmes et un peu dérangés, leur musique est influencée de l'horreur et de tout ce qui tourne autour de l'instabilité mentale à notre époque. Tantôt dénonçant des comportements malsains, tantôt les encourageant, mais toujours à se perdre dans leur perception du bien et du mal.
Cryptik Howling reflects our society’s concepts, their music and poetry represents this with stories about human behaviours and emotions. Sometimes in the skin of their main characters, sometimes simply themselves and a bit screwed, their music is influenced from horror and everything about mental instability in our epoch. Sometimes they denounce immoral behaviours sometimes they encourages them, yet always to lose oneself in its perception of good and evil.
The band officially started in 2002. François (guitar), soon after meeting Christian (guitar), created the name Cryptik Howling.
2002-2003: Eve-Lyne (keyboards), Dominic (vocal) and Guy (drums) joined the band. The formation was complete in the beginning of 2003, when they met Réjean Bernier (bass).
Fall 2004: After a few gigs, Cryptik Howling recorded Eternal Moon of Disgrace as a promo song with Yannick St-Amand. Réjean left the band after the recording and Emmanuel (bass) joined in November 2004.
September 2005: C.H. entered studio with Yannick St-amand to record their first album called Vitium Intus, which was released june 10th 2006.
They played a couple gigs to support the album, including the "Abitibi Metal Invasion tour" in june 2007 and june 2008.
Winter/spring 2008: C.H. recorded 2 promo songs for a press-kit with Yannick St-amand and Francis Beaulieu. This press-kit wasn't released for the public. the music video for Decadent Obidience was released in april 2008.
October 13th 2008, C.H. entered Studio again to record the upcoming album called: Them. recorded and mixed by Yannick St-amand, mastered by Pierre Rémillard. without forgetting James Murphy which worked on the mastering too.
Spring 2009: C.H. recorded a jam session for a new song which will be out for the promo of the new album this summer. Samuel Pruneau joined the band as our new guitarist. Ève-Lyne left the band for some personnal reasons but she's not quite far away from the band and could make some appearances during the year.
Summer 2009: C.H. will take part of the "And out comes the wolves" Tour with Wolven Ancestry and Will of The Ancients from August 7th to 23rd. Keyboards are now sequenced to assure the integrity of the music.
New Merch, Album, site and Myspace updates to comes. The release date for "Them" should be annouced soon and would be around september 8th. Right after their participation to the highly anticipated FME (www.fmeat.org) in their hometown Rouyn-Noranda. New songs are now here on myspace and will be appearing on Cryogenic Records compilation to come soon and the now famous Trois-Rivières Metalfest compilation
Fall 2009: C.H. toured with Blackguard from Oct. 18th to Oct. 26th. They also opened the second day of the Trois-Rivières Metalfest Nov. 14th.
