    Curtis Glatter is an American artist, composer, improviser, poet and percussionist. Glatter has lived in Detroit, Rochester, Boston, San Diego and Vienna. Glatter has given seminars as well as performed for over 240,000+ people in 24 years and he was raised in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. In 2000, Glatter graduated with a B.A. in Music Composition from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. In the past 20 years, members of the Trummerflora Collective, Detroit Symphony, Pontiac Oakland Symphony and Camarada Ensemble have premiered his compositions. Glatter relocated to study in Vienna in 1999 and later the following year he cherished the opportunity to study at Carnegie Hall, NYC with host Pierre Boulez. In 2011, he also studied the music and composition techniques at a workshop hosted by jazz legend Leo Wadada Smith in Detroit, Michigan. Glatter has studied the local and national styles of composition in each city he has lived in as well as performed and studied Classical and African Percussion Techniques at Henry Ford Community College, Interlochen Arts Academy and Oakland University thus affording him the luxury to utilize a wide variety of possibilities when composing and improvising. In the past 10 years, Glatter has been named one of '2010's Top 100 Innovator's' from OnInnovation.org as well as received the 2010 New York City World Maker Faire Editor's Choice Award, the 2011 Detroit Maker Faire Editor's Choice Award, the 2010 Detroit Maker Faire Editor's Choice Award, exhibited the 'Innovatronica2010 invention' at the 2011 Penguicon, the 2009 Ann Arbor Mini-Makerfaire as well as performed at the 2011 Mitten Fest, 2011 Totally Awesome Fest, 2011 Dream Seeding Art Expo in Ann Arbor, 2010 Ann Arbor Art Fair, Indiana's Blank Slate Festival '09, '10 (IND.) BMSWC Earthfest09-Ann Arbor (MI.), Edgefest-Ann Arbor '08,'09, '10 (MI.), Bare Wire Technologies Festival (MI.) '09, California's Big Sur Experimental Music Festival, San Diego Spring Reverb (CA.) 05, '08 and '09 and a featured guest on WCBN, WKPBS, WHFR, KSDS. Since 2003, Glatter has given workshops and lectures on music at Ann Arbor District Library, Coronado School of the Arts and San Diego Community College. In addition to multiple festival performances, Glatter is also a host to a monthly drum circle at the Body, Mind, Spirit Wellness Center in Ann Arbor (MI.). Recordings of Glatter can also be found on the distinguished Circumvention Music Label, Accretions Records, White Rose, Bare Wire Technology Records, Cohort Records and the Castor And Pollux Music record labels.
