Chicago's Cyclone Temple was born from the remnants of speed metal also-rans Znowhite: essentially guitarist Greg Fulton (a.k.a. Ian Tafoya), bassist Scott Schafer and drummer John Slattery, plus ex-Hammeron member Brian Troch, on vocals. Belatedly moving with the times to accept the gospel of thrash (itself already hitting the skids by the start of the 90's), the group signed with Combat Records and released 1991's I Hate Therefore I Am. With Troch's imminent replacement by Sonny DeLuca for 1994's My Friend Lonely, which combined re-recorded cuts from its predecessor Building Errors in the Machine, with new material. This as it turned out, was the final chapter for Cyclone Temple, but the unstoppable Fulton would soon re-emerge with a new project entitled Rebels Without Applause, while DeLuca was briefly involved with nu-metal bands Soil & From Zero, and is now working with former From Zero Guitarist Joe Pettinato on a new project. Unofficial reports claim the bands name to be DIEM.
