During the late 80’s and early 90’s a group of recording artists and producers in New York created a new sound known as Latin Hip-Hop or Freestyle, of which Cynthia emerged as the reigning Queens of the genre. With her hits “Change on Me “, “Thief of Hearts” and “Endless Nights” and “Dream Boy Dream Girl” under her belt, all garnering Billboard chart action, Cynthia slated a deal with Timber! Records to take her to a new level in her career, thrusting forth her new album "Like a Star".
Born and raised in Spanish Harlem as a child attached to music, she sought inspiration from legend Donna Summer and disco star France Joli.
At a young age, her family knew she had the flair of a performer and enrolled her in opera classes to strengthen her voice. With guidance of a good friend in the music industry "SAFIRE", Cynthia experienced the life of a live performer first hand.
Even though she majored in medicine in school and her goal was to work with children, (Pediatrician), she knew once she saw Safire perform and the crowd react, it was at that moment she decided to audition for several producers.... One year later, Cynthia signed a recording contract and had written her first song "Change on Me".
The success of her first single continued as "Endless Nights" and three more hit singles from her debut album CYNTHIA, made it's mark on New York, Chicago, Miami and Texas and established Cynthia as one of freestyles biggest and brightest stars.
Cynthia was quickly followed up by another full length album CYNTHIA II, which help solidify her position.
In 1992 Cynthia recording contract with MICMAC records expired and Cynthia was approached by Tony Moran and Joey Gardner to release a single/album on there new label Timber/Tommy boy Records.
There was nearly a three year gap between the time she signed her contract and when her first single was released. A lot had to do with the nature of radio and changing trends. "We figured we would take the time off and planthe next move, which resulted to "How I Love Him" a single which featured K7. In 1998, Cynthia releases her follow-up single" If I had the Chance", another Tony Moran composition which had taken New York by storm, as it head to the top of the WKTU'S play list, New York's premier dance music radio station. It is now 2005 and Cynthia still remains in the game.

You have supported me for 18yrs and for that I am extremely grateful!!!!"
