DAARAJ FAMILY
Started in 1992 under the name of Daara J, the famous Senegalese band is now known as DAARA J FAMILY. Its influences include AFRO Reggae, Hip-Hop and Soul.
Winners of the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards for “Best African Act”, they were also nominated to the Mobo Awards in 2004 with “Boomerang” the last of their 3 albums.
FAADA FREDDY and NDONGO D the 2 singers and DJ Neassso , were destined for an international career and notoriety that they developped with more than 1500 worldwide performances in France, UK, Germany, USA, Japan, etc...and their last album’s released in more than 20 territories.
“Daara J” means “School of Life” in Wolof and focuses on human identity, social & political topics and spirituality creating a music that mixes modernity and roots.
After their collaboration with “Ojos de Brujos ,La Mirada del Otro - October 2007 and “Damon Albarn” (Africa Express – October 2008),producing bests senegalese hip hop artists(canabasse,makkanj,ombré zion,youngou man, gaston&titi's single "man ak mom"maxi krezi's single "baye yo side",fata's single "music",dakarallstars...)in their studio based in dakar BOIS SAKRE.
DAARA J FAMILY is currently recording a new album (School Of Life)featuring musicians from all over the world.

Super concert les gars hier au cabaret qui a effectivement du mal à être SAUVAGE parfois! On est en France hein pas sur le continent! Faut pas nous en vouloir, ici on nous enlève notre énergie... Mais vous avez bien chauffé la salle pour accueillir le Fireman c'est cool! Faudrait qu'on se capte pour une interview pour l'asso RACINES je vous ai laissé un message téléphonique...
