A man of many tastes and talents, Damien has never been satisfied to simply rely on samples and sounds produced and arranged through a computer. As a music student of over 15 years, he feels an obligation to use those talents and apply them to all his electronic endeavors. Damien's life has always included music, he began studying Piano when he was four years old and from the moment his fingers hit the keys, it was evident that music would be a strong influence in all that he did.
The introduction to electronic music came for Damien around the age of 15 when he began taking part in the local club scene. Attending many events he soon took on a passion for the music that required him to find an appropriate outlet. He began to DJ in 2001 and had taken to playing Jungle/Drum&Bass. Under the guidance of many local DJs, Heck quickly honed his skills and was subject to great praise when playing in his community. His technicality and emphasis on maintaining proper keys and harmonies while mixing were a rare and unique trait within the city. Due to his broad taste, Damien did not however stay a jungle DJ for long and soon began listening to, playing, and constructing house music. He found Jungle and its related genre's, although they contained many wonderful records, to be too mono-directional and narrow. His tastes broadened perpetually to include, progressive, breaks, techno and even some trance. Damien's diversity is one of his greatest strengths when creating music, as it allows him to manipulate genres and break barriers. He strives to not just fit into one formulaic paradigm.
Earlier in 2005, Damien launched a series of broadcasts on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported Radio, ETN.fm and Dance Latino America. The intent was to promote his, as well as his affiliates’ forthcoming music. The project was a great success, but was put on hiatus due to a busy schedule (set to relaunch in mid 2007.) Having created this strong outlet for his compositions encouraged Damien to work even harder in the studio. Now, at just 22 years old, he has signed over 40 original productions, remixes and collaborations to labels all around the world including Paul van Dyk’s Vandit Records, Baroque Records, Hope Records, Sirup Music, AVA and various others.
A man with drive, determination and a lust for success, Damien Heck is one to keep an eye on. Count on him soon becoming a staple amongst those at the top of the game, and branding the worldwide EDM community with his sound.
Thanks for the add Damien, much appreciated.
Can you check out my new track "Alive" (remixed by Elucidate). I'm getting DJ and some label interest in this one.
Peace,
