Dandelion (aka Daniel Collier) was born on the small island of Tobago in the Carribean in 1983. As he was growing up he remembers that amongst all the music that was around, Dub was his favorite. At the time this would have been all the classic, late 80's dancehall; artists such as Supercat, Bugu Banton, and Coutney Melody.
In 1990, at the age of 7, he moved to England. For many years reggae was not part of his life. This all changed when around the age of 17, living in Norwich, he began to be inspired by a local sound system who were playing regularly around the city. This sound system, 'Rebel Lion', at his request, let him have a go on the mic at one of their sessions. Since then Dandelion has not looked back. Encouraged by the growing scene in Norwich he was able to hone his skills as a reggae singer. So by the time he moved to London in 2005 it did not take long before his talent was noticed.
To Date, Dandelion has had several releases, most notably with 'Consciouse Sound' and 'Hyperdub', Kode-9's dubstep label. He is now also singing regularly with several sound systems including 'The Dubateers' and 'Free King Sound'.
As well as roots and dubstep, he is also involved in variouse crossover colaborations. These include 'The Hempolics' and 'Wills and the Willing'. With these projects he has shown his versitiliy as a singer, and an openess to different styles of music, but at the same time seems to maintain a steady and consciouse approach to his lyrics.
