Sounds Like
If you took; Leon Rebone, Bare Naked Ladies, Tom Waits, Billy Joel, Damien Rice, Mac Rebennack, Keb Mo, Arlo Guthrie, and Taj Mahal, put them in a bowl and mashed them into a paste.. my sound would be some what reminiscent of a blend, of these poor mashed-up people.
"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
Good to hear ya, even if it is only though an electronic page. We're missing you and Annie. Craig was just talking about you tonight. How are things going in the land down under? Making music? It sounds like you've got a couple of new ones.

Hey.... If you're around on Friday, I'm playing at The Derby in Los Feliz. It's my first show in a couple years, and I'm totally psyched to get out and start playing my new tunes. Would love to see you if you're in the area...
Hard to lose an old friend... even if it is a place... The Talking Stick. The song that came to my mind was The Byrds singing "Turn Turn Turn". Have a great last show. Hugs, Sylvia
Thank you for the spirit that you bring to Kulaks, the pure sense of play in your music that just warms everyone up...you can't help but feel so good hearing your songs.
Dano - another good show at the Talking Stick last night - I think that I was about one out of the only two non-songwriters there! So, who ended up winning the longest song contest???
Thanks for all that you brought to Saturday night's lovetrain from your own set to finding harmonica parts on the fly in others' sets. Fantastic night of music. Much obliged.
Dan! Your "Dear John" Show was your best yet - what a great line-up of Johns! (Where's the ex-governor?;-). Honestly, a wonderful and warm night of great songwriters and music - thanks again!
