With a delicate voice and with lyrics that mirrors one young mans life, Daniel Seestrand carefully ponders the ways of life in an age so characterised by ideals and the need for reflection. Backed by notes that spring from the Swedish musical heritage, his music is a blend of pop and country as well as American singer- songwriter that ends up in a quite unique sound.
Words from D.Seestrand:
I started playin' a long time ago...
I remember when I bought my first real guitar back in 91. Later that night I had my first gig. Awesome...
This electricguitar made me improve my skills and after years of playing in different bands and conquering the continent i decided to start recording songs back in my apartment. Now i got some.. alot of them.. Aome of them is here, enjoy!
This bio is writen by A.Kily (2006)
Daniel Seestrand is a one-man band from Sweden. The story started 2003 when the 7’’ “Yellow Mask (2003)” was released in 200ex. The music was at this time pure singer & songwriter material. With a aucustic guitar and backed up with piano performed by Johan Meyer these six songs was to be the foundation of the Daniel Seestrand sound. The following record was to be titled “If I Ever Give Something Away, It Will Always Be A Part Of Myself (2004)” and now for the first time local press took notice of this young swede. The record won a competition and got some good rewieves. Next year two records were recorded in Seestrand Studios. “The Reason” was to planned to be Seestrands third album but the master cd was stolen and therefor the record never got printed, instead “A Dream Catching A Vision (2005)” was to be the third album of Daniel Seestrand. When 2006 arrived Daniel Seestrand had alot of songs ready and six of them was selected and recorded for his fourth record with the title “5 (2006)”. Now the sound had improved alot and Daniel Seestrand was backed up by an orchestra.
The music can be described as “alot of emotions with a tender fragile voice”. The lyrics is about life itself and inspired by people in everyday life. His music is also affecting people that doesn't usually listen to this kind of music. He has a way to put the listeners mind into a peacefull state. This is the absolute comfort in the cold autumn." This is an abstract for an interview with the man himself:
“I don’t think people really understand that I do tend to smile from time to time. The lyrics are dark, but that’s what i tend to use the music for, to channel everything that I’ll learned to keep deep inside. You’re not always allowed to speak about dark things or feelings. Somehow it must be reveled. This is my way of dealing with things that can’t be verbalized” ............“Perfoming live hasn’t been a priority for me. But things have changed. Now I got a band to back me up. I enjoy the thought of playing, or performing live”
