| General | I am a gourmand and try hard food critic. A dedicated Japanophile, I am also partial to pinot noirs, dancing, and bar hopping. I like local art and fashion, support local and boutique businesses and adore Melbourne's architecture. I like exploring laneways and uncovering cool new places in the city's underbelly.
A long suffering Collingwood supporter, I also love soccer, basketball, sumo, tennis, lawn bowls, and dodgeball. I also enjoy dwarf throwing, although I'm usually more suited to be the air conveyance rather than the thrower. | | Music | I listen to music depending on my mood. The following all gets airplay: Kylie, Tool, Howling Bells, Serge Gainsbourg, the Killers, Dean Martin, Paul Van Dyk, Gorillaz, Prince, Beck, Prodigy, Pearl Jam, Beethoven, Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, Ayumi Hamasaki, Kings of Leon, Happy Mondays, New Order, Air, Maria Callas, Goten Project, Phoenix, Blackalicious, Wolfmother. | | Movies | I have an eclectic DVD collection. I like movies about food, period films, anime, sci-fi, film noir & some B-grade. Love Coen Bros, Studio Ghibli, Ridley Scott and movies with gorgeous cinematography. Current faves include Lost in Translation, Sin City, In The Mood For Love, Kill Bill 2 and the Man from Hong Kong. | | Television | SEINFELD and SIMPSONS!!! I also like Iron Chef, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Foreign Correspondent, Spicks and Specks, Enough Rope, and any cooking show with Jamie Oliver, Nick Nairn, Keith Floyd, etc..Like thought provoking historical documentaries and travel shows. Favourite channels are SBS and the ABC. | | Books | Love Roald Dahl, Ben Elton, Anthony Bourdain, George Orwell, Peter Mayle, Raymond Feist, Milan Kundera and magazines like Gourmet Traveller, Men's Style, and Litmus. Like guides like the Age Good Food Guide and Larousse Gastronomique. Oddly, I love reading the Melways street directory. |

I was born in Singapore but grew up in the (then) mean streets of Prahran, then Melbourne's Eastern suburbs. I am now settled nicely in the CBD and enjoying the city lifestyle.
A dainty yet interesting public servant, I have also recently completed a Master of Business Administration. I still have until March 2007 to take advantage of student rates for movies and the football though.
Friends reckon I have good taste, although I put that down to shallowness, however, I do take pride in my appearance. I hate superficiality of any kind, and do not respect those who place too much importance on external appearances. I have a well-honed wanker and bullshit radar.
Having not been in the circus, I never learnt to juggle and so I don't juggle with people's feelings, friendships, etc.

Non-wankers and non-poseurs. People who enjoy food, whether eating, writing, singing, filming, or playing ;) Positive people who look beyond the physical. Quirky qualities are most welcome!
