Industrial music with a progressive bent; edgy, goth and shoegaze-influenced rock and metal with electronica style beats and synths and lyrical vocals; improvised dance music and ambient music with loud and atmospheric guitars as well as live synths and tweaking of beats.

Knots confound, knots unite, knots are paradoxical symbols of ubiquitous obstacles and procreant connections, of attachments one must form or tolerate, of the bonds, imagined or real, that one fears or desires.
Todd Bowes began writing material for the band in early 2005. That summer, Derek Martin came to apply for the lead/ 2nd guitarist position that no one was seeking to fill. In Fall 2006, Phil Petrie assumed control of the machine.
The band is now in the midst of recording and mixing a great deal of material that is soon to be released.
Two new members also officially joined DTK this summer: drummer Sebastian Cruells and bassist Scott Barley, bringing a thunderous new backbeat to DTK's already humongous sound.
Derek gained some notoriety for setting up underground shows in his loft under the moniker “Last Resort Art Space” until it landed him in jail. DTK still rehearses and records in the space now. Phil Petrie has a solo ambient electronica project called Ex Machina. Derek Martin is one half of noise/ experimental duo Malperduys. Todd collaborates with vocalist Melissa Kibbe in trip-industrial band Strike Sparks.
