Dark Canvas Records is an independent Metal/Rock record label based in Tampa Bay, Florida. We are fully dedicated to promote and spread all over the world high quality music and recordings of bands from the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. Our commitment is to share with the Metal community and Rock fans of every corner of the planet, the impressive body of work of some of the leading bands from this part of the world that is usually known for its tropical music, foods and African cultural traditions but not for its ever growing Rock/Metal scene that has produced over the last decade, some of the genre’s finest musicians of the Latin-American continent.

The label will release its first official recordings on the Fall of 2011. These will include the label's first free promotional compilation and the long-awaited second album of the Dominican Republic’s premier Metal band ARCHAIOS, titled “The Distant”. Other future releases will include special editions of classic Dominican Metal recordings such as NECRO(R.D)’s “VI” (Thrash/Death Metal), MERODAC’s “The Zaroth Revelations” (Black Metal) and ALTUS MORTEM’s “Sentenced Era” (Prog/Psychedelic Death Metal).

These will be available via digital downloading and on limited special CD editions through mail order, on the label’s virtual store and in selected record stores of America and the rest of the world.
