.... .. .. .. .. .. ...................... .. 22/05/10 .. Nearly three months since my last update here. Since then, we've played the Fleece gig, had a return gig at the Blue Lagoon - much better than the previous one - we were better, played for longer, and the audience was bigger! Had our first radio interview a couple of Sundays ago, on community station Gloss FM. Tonight is our first venture to the Spring Gardens, a newish venue. We are very much looking forward to this. Our next gig after this will be the Bunch of Grapes in two weeks time. .. Plans for the future - I intend to spend some time in the summer working on the "official bootleg" album, of live tracks and demos, for release in the autumn. Following on from that, we hope to start recording a proper album for release sometime in 2011. .. Onwards and upwards! .. Justin .. 27/02/10 .. Starting to feel like things are happening: We got the Fleece gig as a last minute offer when someone else cancelled. I hope it will lead to more. The last time I played there was 1993 or 1994, I think.... It was a Wednesday night, supporting a band of which I have no memory, and we played to probably about 100 people at most. As it's a 400 capacity venue, it didn't feel very busy! Hopefully we'll see more this time. .. The next Blue Lagoon gig is April 3rd. The last one was a Thursday, and we got a good crowd for that night of the week, so we've been promoted to a Saturday this time. I just hope not too many people are away for the bank holiday weekend! .. New website up and running (more or less): .. http://darkenergy.moonfruit.com/ .. 07/11/09 .. We have a Facebook group here: .. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=219409075555 .. 31/08/09 .. Added three songs today: .. Lightning Strikes is in the current set - we recorded the demo this summer. I might go back and redo the vocals though! .. Winter's Day is an early song, from my first band, Midnight to Six - I came up with the riff and chord structure way back in 1982, I think. The lyrics were by the band's bass player and singer, Gary, who I've long since lost contact with. This is a re-recorded and reworked version that I recorded at home in 2000, tacking on a long instrumental play-out at the end. This one may go into the set at some point. .. Proton Decay is a long instrumental piece that I wrote and recorded in 2000. I would quite like to put it in the set, but this may involve a lot of work!

Anyone else use Reaper for recording? I've just started working with it - I was using Audacity previously.

Yes, we're still here! For any recent visitors, the lack of activity on MySpace is because we've been concentrating our online efforts elsewhere, primarily ReverbNation and Twitter. We can also be found on Soundcloud, Youtube, and, of course, Facebook.

Oh yes, MySpace seem to have conflated us with another artist called Dark Energy. I haven't figured out how to remove their songs yet, but you should be able to tell the difference!

More news soon, I hope!
