Bio :

(English) In 2008, Aldébaran (founder and main composer of Artefact on the first three albums and the demos) decided to create Darkenhöld because he intended to pursue his creative march in the meanders of the Black-Metal style (also including diverse influences) which was dear to him. An approach which was not any more convenient for the comrades of his previous group. Aldébaran has never changed an optics since the beginning, but the evolution of the events decided on it otherwise... A first experience is led within the group Etheryäl (a more Doom directed group, which gave birth of a demo) where a symbiosis builds up itself with Cervantes to texts and Aboth to the drums. This aborted attempt allowed however the hatching of Darkenhöld which gather all their ambitions.

Forests haunted by the mysteries of ancient times, creatures forged in stone and poisoned-flesh magic, caverns and castles appealing to the spells and phantasmagoria empire, under the burning glance of stars setting fire to the night... The universe of DARKENHÖLD invites the explorer to discover the essence of a Black Metal opening its gates to the imagination of both listeners and readers. A sail on the waves of a raging surge, playing of melodious darkness and medieval atmospheres. The prolific spirit of Aldébaran gives birth to the music of DARKENHÖLD, which lodges its innermost recesses in a creative den, where the inspiration of this artist goes to the obsidian source of the primordial hours of epic and oniric Black Metal. The vocals of Cervantes furrow the bends of fantasmagoric lyric, which resound with rumblings, breaking out of the fortress where Aboth reigns, master of angry drums and glowing metal, under its robust and lurid striking. From this musical fellowship comes a growing murmur which will know how to take your imagination, hopefully ! Welcome in the world of DARKENHÖLD !

(French) En 2008, Aldébaran (fondateur et compositeur principal d'Artefact sur les trois premiers albums et les démos) a décidé de créer Darkenhöld car il entendait poursuivre son trajet créatif dans les méandres du style de Black-Metal (comprenant aussi d'autres influences multiples et diverses) qui lui était cher. Une démarche qui ne convenait plus aux acolytes de son précédent groupe. Aldébaran n'a jamais changé d'optique depuis le début, mais l'évolution des évènements en a décidé autrement... Une première expérience est menée au sein du groupe Etheryäl (un groupe plus orienté Doom, et qui enfanta d'une démo) où une symbiose se crée avec Cervantes aux textes et Aboth à la batterie. Cette tentative avortée a permis toutefois l'éclosion de Darkenhöld qui syncrétise toutes leurs ambitions.

Forêts hantées par le mystère des anciens temps, créatures forgées dans la pierre et les chairs empoisonnées de magie, cavernes et châteaux appelant à l'empire des sorts et des fantasmagories, sous le regard brûlant des étoiles embrasant la nuit... L'univers de DARKENHÖLD convie l'explorateur à découvrir l'essence d'un Black Metal ouvrant ses portes à l'imagination de l'auditeur et du lecteur. Une navigation sur les flots d'une houle rageuse, aux reflets moirés de ténèbres mélodieuses et d'atmosphères médiévales. Enfantée par l'esprit prolifique d'Aldébaran, la musique de DARKENHÖLD loge ses plis et replis dans son antre créatif, où cet artiste de l'extrême puise son inspiration, distillée à la source obsidienne des heures originelles d'un Black Metal épique et onirique. Les vocaux de Cervantes sillonnent des textes fantasmagoriques, où résonnent des grondements, déferlant de la forteresse sur laquelle règne Aboth, le maître des fûts colériques et du métal rougeoyant, chantant sous sa frappe robuste et cuivrée. De cette réunion musicale provient un murmure qui ira s'amplifiant et saura, nous l'espérons, emporter votre imagination ! Bienvenue dans le monde de DARKENHÖLD !
