We started Dark Lingo on the 8th floor of a defunct furniture warehouse in Braddock, PA. Sandy Patton played bass really fast, and would pick out furious patterns with little regard for major/minor scales or key.
We pulled the frets off the bass guitar, the patterns became even less familiar, more freed and vibrating. We found the right cables to hook our microphones to our FX pedals and started to scream and drone and delay. There were steel mills burning down the street, and sometimes the flames would dance high above the stacks, unconnected.
We got married on a boat in a cave, and our friend Josh Tanzer donated his studio and his time to record Dark Lingo. We are beginning to explore phenomena like fake rooms, artificial ambiance, and gated reverbs. Dark Lingo is releasing two more cassettes on FACSS to explore the scope of our sound.
