Figure kit building & Sculpting,
Animation,

& My Xbox 360!
Music
Techno Industrial Dance. My favorite band is VNV Nation followed by Apoptygma Berzerk. I'm a huge fan of the 80s and have been known to listen to traditional old school country (not this new young country CRAP) Johny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers. My favorite song is "Ring of Fire" by Johny Cash.
Movies
The list goes on and on. I generally gravitate towards Sci Fi, Fantasy, & Horror. I like comedies, but usually won't pay to see them in a theatre. I can watch chick flicks once in awhile, but I tend to save those for my girlfriend. Some of my favorite films include Serenity, The Lord Of the Rings trilogy, Dune(David Lynch)...
Television
I don't watch a lot of television, but once every now and again something comes along that I have to watch. Currently I watch Battlestar Galactica(Best show on TV), Supernatural, and Masters of Horror. My favorite television series is Firefly(even though its dead, I can watch it over and over).
Books
Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, good fantasy, anything Clive Barker, the Hot Blood series, and anything that can make my skin crawl!
Heroes
Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson. Two small time horror directors that have made it big and garnered the respect of top industry players and fans.
I also have to throw Joss Whedon in there too, the man can do no wrong!
About me: Hey everyone,
What can I say about myself? I am a horror movie fan raised on everything from Boris Karloff's Mummy to chainsaw weilding Texans and Jason's continued exploits on Crystal Lake. I like to keep my "geek" in the closet, but have been tricked into talking about the latest comics and the latest sci-fi shows airing on Space. I'm a huge fan of shows like Tales From the Crypt, Tales From the Darkside, Monsters, Twilight Zone, etc... I like my movies to have an end, and yeah I'm one of those guys that really doesn't like to have to pump the brain juice to figure out what the hell is going on.
I've been doing makeup FX off and on for about 8 years, more recently due to my involvement with some local production houses. One of my high points was shaking hands with Tom Savini when at a New York convention. I love traditional and practical FX and find the digital medium only works if used when nothing else does.
As far as film-making goes, I've done two shorts, Hidden Darkness and 6 Minutes, both of which will hopefully be released before Christmas and be available for download on my site. I've got four other projects in various stages of pre-production, including 3 shorts and my first feature, which is based on my Hidden Darkness short.
I have a website that details alot of my work, although its a little dated. The new site(same address) will be launched October 31st 2006. Other then my current endeavors, I'm known for my figure painting (for which I've won many awards). I've also taken up sculpting over the last couple of years and have actually had one of my statues made into a model kit....cool!
Check out some of my stuff,
Above, you can see a few images of some of the work I've done over the last year or so. A lot of the pictures come from my own short Hidden Darkness which I hope to host here very soon. The trailer is posted below. Let me know what you think. Anyone interested in talking about film or just wanting to say hi, drop me a line and I'll add you to my friends list.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm into meeting any indie film makers, especially those involved in low to no budget productions. People who work in the makeup effects industry or even hobbiests who have an interest in this field. We can all learn from each other in many ways. Anyone from the city of Ottawa, Ontario is also encouraged to contact me.
You can also visit my website at Darkstorm Films and let me know what you think of my work.
