Influences
My wife and family are my inspiration to get up in the morning and work hard to be the best I can be everyday.
I’ve been infuenced by so many people on my musical.
journey. Miles, Prince, Quincy Jones. Initially I was drawn to the bass when I heard Louis Johnson of "The Bros Johnson" that knocked me out at age 14. As I listened to the radio certain bass players grabbed my ear and never let go. Larry Graham, Bootsy Collins, Prince, Willie Weeks, and Marcus Miller have all played a huge part in the development of my sound and style. I have had the opportunity to get to know some of these great musicians as friends over the years and thru them I learned its not all about the notes you play but the choices you make in life and the way you live it.

I was born in St. Petersburg Florida where I grew up with the sound of music all around. Hearing my godfather on trumpet and my father on bass or piano leading the family jam sessions was the first spark of musical inspiration. I started playing the trumpet in third grade and worked my way up to all-city band as a featured soloist. With the encouragement of high school classmate Roberto Tyson, it would be the sound of the bass guitar that called out to me at the age of 14. Inspired by the soulful sounds of bassists like Willie Weeks, James Jamerson and Louis Johnson, I was drawn to the bass and soon discovered I had a very natural connection to it. I taught myself to play by listening to the radio and picking out the bass parts on an acoustic guitar that a family friend had left at our home.
I have worked with crème of the crop in the San Francisco bay area music scene. Ive played jazz with Joyce Cooling, rock with Eric Martin (Mr. Big), soul with Tower Of Power and funk with Zigaboo Modeliste (The Meters) and learned so much in the process. Whatever the style of music I always put the song first. I have been the bassist with Grammy winning singer/songwriter Bonnie Hayes. The joy of working with such a talented artist is beyond measure.
The past 3 years Ive been working in a slightly different medium video game music. Along with an incredibly talented team of musicians, and engineers at WaveGroup Sound we have created the music for some of the hottest music video games today. Karaoke Revolution and Guitar Hero have won countless awards for design, innovation and set a new standard in videogame music.
