DateMonthYear began life in 2003 as an anti-band, a project best described as a "flexible recording and performing unit". The idea was to create a music making situation not tied to the idea of a "band".Styles and personnel were to remain as flexible as possible.
Five years, three CDs, two orchestral concerts, a movie,multiple TV placements,and a multiude of gigs later, the DateMonthYear blue team has dominated proceedings with a sound best described as a blend of Movie atmospheres, Rock dynamics, and pop melodies.
With the end of the Blue Team in terms of live gigs, DateMonthYear is poised to launch version 2.0 with two CDs due and a new live band, the Black Team, in rehearsal.
