Singer songwriter Andrew Blakehall began playing the Korg X5 in 1996. He moved to Seattle from Hawaii in 1999. After eight years of practice and songwriting he forged a style relatively unique to the indie pop circuit. A music which relies on syncopated and odd time rhythms, dynamic harmonies, and an instrumentation completely alien to anything in music today: Keyboards, Cello, Trombone, and Drums. The lack of a guitar allow the singular melodies of the cello and trombone to step to the forefront along side Andrews lyrics which cover subjects ranging from the daydreams of a fifth grader, to his loathing for Bellevue, Washington.

You didn't miss that great of a show last night though Fire at Captain Mike's was pretty cool, and we also did Legend of Christopher Moon with Shelby just like on the recorded version...
K, maybe this wouldn't work cause they are girl bands, but have you already done a Bangles V. Go Go's showdown? It would be popular amongst the neighbors crowd at the very least. ;) well, maybe we could just vote on the scariest hair? ^-^
do you guys want to play a show on may 23rd at the greenhouse with us? let me know if there is interest or not. it gonna be a first come first serve type of thing so let me know. thanks for the consideration.
I think I disagree with your reckoning on there never being surges of keyboard-based singer songwriters. Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Ben Folds, Cat Power, Rufas Wainwright, and think of all the awful or just plain mediocre paino men that came out of the shadow of Elton JOhn and Billy Joel. I think that trend comes and goes quite often but you have a point if you say most all of them are piano first, other keyboards second...
