If you take a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music teacher, and mix them all together you would get Dave McCormick. He started playing drums at the age of ten, and from there the sky was the limit. He now plays, guitar, drums, dobro, lapsteel mandolin and bass.
When you listen to one of Dave's original songs, they seem to reach out and grab you and won't let go. He writes of experiences and people from his home state of West Virginia and throughout the country. He has written over 400 songs and each one tells a different story about, love , life or loss that we can all associate with. His first album was entitled "Music Man", a collection of southern rock, and country-alt ballads. Original songs like "Whipporwill" and "Music Man" were well known and always requested by his fans in West Virginia, give them a listen and you will see why they are so popular.
In 2006, Dave was one of the five co-winners at the annual Mountain Stage Newsong Contest, and his song "Where Are You Moses" co-written by Tracy Rush tied for best song from 1500 entries. 2006 also saw Dave making many trips to Nashville where he currently lives now.
June 2008,was a month to remember for Dave. He signed his first writers deal with Sure Fire Music, and in the same week had the great honor of opening for Merle Haggard at the Ryman Auditorium.
If you ever get to see Dave play live you are in for a treat. He will draw you in on a heart wrenching acoustic love song and then stand you on your head with one of his southern rock originals, or you might even think you are hearing the Allman Brothers, when his Stratocaster is screaming and Dave is beltin' out "Statesboro Blues. Mister McCormick: This is the most impersonal way of communicating however, I don't know how else to get a hold of you. So, it's almost October and I will be extremely upset if you do not come in for the black walnut festival because for the majority of black walnut festivals I remember you have been there. So, you should come in for that. Also, I'm listening to your new music, well its new to me at least and I like it =]
CountryHome Forum have more than 5,800 members. Each news you submit to CountryHome Forum will released to my weekly Newsletter with more than 60,000 readers.
Please submit your artist news and events to CountryHome Forum to help your artists to get well known better in Europe. If you do not have the time to submit your artist news and events by yourself, please send it me to: Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de and I will submit them by myself to CountryHome Forum.
I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks
Christian

My 5 year old is singing "I don't think we gave a damn, just a bunch of hell raisin' kids" and so on--telling me it's ok if it's in a song, but not OK to say those words. And I have a great new song for you -- & feeling more on the way. Miss you!
