The song “Middle Eastern Dawn” by David Weiss was featured on a Sept. 6 A & E Channel documentary titled “Deadly Dust: The Toxic Aftermath of 9/11.”
The documentary investigates health care problems faced by first-response rescuers who inhaled toxic dust during the 9/11 tragedy.
For the past 10 years, Weiss has worked as an IT Specialist at Western Washington University while composing, recording and performing original music. He previously attended Western as a music-performance major and studied classical guitar with David Feingold.
He also founded a nonprofit organization for local musicians called BIMA (Bellingham Independent Music Association).
The documentary was produced by Bill Kurtis Productions for the A & E television network and will be made available on DVD. Check local listings for show times.

I'm a real music geek. I used to play in an 80's rock cover band called New Moon Rising. I sing, play guitar, write songs, record them and have a lot fun with it. I played on a few people's album projects until I self-released my debut instrumental acoustic guitar CD in 1999 called Finger Noise. Since then I've played two other bands, Jacapito (we call ourselves an "Ambient World Jazz" group) and The Letter Street Band. I've got a hard rock band on the side with three of my buddies called CLEAR AS DAY. We are currently recording some loud rocking tracks.
Who I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet musicians, producers, dancers, film directors, writers, artists, actors and well, I guess anyone who loves music and is passionate about it.

Running Wild Skip and dance, roll and run. Follow that cloud.
My friend is the night, it sings a song of stars. And never stops chasing me through the valley down below.
Dear David,, How are things with you? Stop by our page and say hello. Here is a painting by our artist Rochelle Brown
Northwest Encounter
The women approaches to get a better look at the heron that was so frightened. Her brilliant smile has stunned him. In the mists of the northwest coast at the shore, the San Juan Islands that are in the background are floating.
Dear Friends, Happy Thursday. Here is a painting by our Navajo artist, Teddy Draper.
