Bio
David Rynhart is an independent/folk songwriter and musician who lives in Denver, CO. He plays the guitar, piano and Irish flute.
"Acoustic balladeers with dreamy naiveté and faux-depth have spiked in population since the mid-90’s: Gratefully David Rynhart, a folk adept who’s found a niche in Coal Creek Canyon, CO, shares no affiliation with that demographic. Incorporating instrumental skills and styles that he’s acquired as a frequent adventurer both nationally and abroad, Rynhart particularly harnesses his affluent "Reinhardt"-esque dexterity on guitar to sift out a studious acoustic/roots concept album complete with dabbles of abstraction (seriously, he has a handful of dramatic dialogue tracks that are terribly endearing). ...They illustrate Rynhart’s quest for truth in his own surrealism...

"David Rynhart’s music is a wonderful mix of driving acoustic guitar and folk story telling, all presented with a Celtic undercurrent of power and spirituality. It’s no wonder. His musical history includes forays into rock and roll, acoustic folk, bluegrass, and Celtic sounds... ...On his CD, "The Air Balloon," This variety of experience, musical and otherwise, is clearly evident. Belying David’s young age, the music explores mature themes of love, dreams, and even a hint of the metaphysical. At its heart is just plain good, varied, and exciting music...

"Rynhart sings charismatically...(his) time is only beginning in terms of
forging his place alongside some of the best rising singer/songwriters"
-Gareth Maher, musician.ie
"...he has been building up an impeccable reputation for himself with his
own blend of stirring acoustic music."
-Kernan Andrews, Galway Advertiser
“...the arrival of probably one of the best songs I’ve ever heard recorded by a local artist, the live retooling of Rynhart’s “Bright White Lightning.” It is an absolute nuke of a song, with the ability to bash out any numbers of similar style on the national level. This song needs to be sung on the way to work, handed out on street corners, and end up on and episode of that bastion of American music - Grey’s Anatomy. It’s something that Rynhart needs to capitalize on immediately and something that you must obtain now.”

“What I didn't mention is -- David Rynhart is equally amazing. They played their final gig here in Bloomington (IN) last nite. David performed his Bright White Lightning and time stood still. No one was even breathing -- the wait staff, the owner, the bartender, the crowd. You will love this guy. I'd give anything to be at your listening room for this concert. Your audience will be enthralled.”
-Melissa McReynolds
“What we have here is a roots based Indie CD full of a kind of potpourri of stock phrases culled from blues, bluegrass, trad folk, and Celtic songs that the author of this album, David Rynhart, serves up a full flavored dish expertly with taunt acoustic guitar playing that is finger plucking good as well down home but slick playing on banjo, piano and Irish flute.
...All in all this an expertly played and cogently summing up of the American landscape in poetic pastiches that invite the listener to come along for the ride bumpy as that ride maybe but still pleasing to the season as David's beautiful aching tenor runs roughshod over your initial skepticism. Certainly he seduced mine and reworked it so that I too am a believer. Two thumbs up.

I was wrong. I was wrong to assume so much negativity of a moment. I was wrong and as that moment extended beyond the time period which should reasonably be able to be considered ” moment.” I was wrong because David Rynhart can write a damn impressive song and I was wrong because David Rynhart can perform that song even better.”
