David St. Romain, a cajun native, spent his childhood on the wing of his dad's career in the automobile industry ranging from Florida to the pelican state where he began performing as a teenager in local bars. His influences range from heavy metal, rock & roll, R&B and traditional and contemporary country.
Discovered by a local Louisiana producer, David began recording a project in February of 2000 under the direction of Dan Tyler, one of Nashville's finest songwriters. Dan spent the next few years developing David and released the debut independent album, titled DSR. Over the next five years David spent most of his time and talents promoting his record by performing an average of 200 shows a year entertaining on stages in over 20 states. Around the fall of 2004, Mike Brignardello, a triple A studio bass player, began showing interest in helping David start a writing and publishing career. They began writing in 2005 and David earned his first published song in 2006.
During his travels David met the love of his life and married Elizabeth in October, 2005. Following the birth of their first baby girl Bailey in October 2006, David was chosen as one of the finalist for the 5th season of USA Network's Nashville Star. After 8 weeks of competition, David placed 3rd in the nation out of 20,000 earning him national recognition alongside the likes of Randy Owen, John Rich & Blake Shelton. David spent the summer of 2007 touring the nation with the Nashville Star cast and making thousands of new fans.
With the excitement of David's success on TV still running high throughout the state of Louisiana, David began receiving support in many ways from local and state politicians like former Governor Kathleen Blanco. Gov. Blanco hosted multiple press releases and invited David to perform at the Governor's mansion on two occasions. Baton Rouge Mayor Melvin Kip Holden even declared February 19 th, David St. Romain Day.
The momentum was no different from the past year. David began working with multiple non-profit organizations like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Louisiana All Veterans Reunion.
The future is looking bright for David with a new baby girl, Briley, a completed album in February of 2009, and a new management team, Morris Management. Listen for DSR's single coming to radio Summer '09.
