Daybreaks formed in 2005, shortly after meeting each other at college.
After playing on the Manchester circuit for over a year, the band were spotted by a new independent record label called V-Sign. Daybreaks were the first band to sign with the label at the end of 2007.
2008 was a massive year for Daybreaks. Starting in February with a heavy four day recording session at the Charlatans 'Big Mushroom Studios' in Middlewich, with producer Jim Spencer, who has previously worked with the likes of New Order, The Charlatans & Johnny Marr. In April the band released their debut single "Here I Am". The single received great reviews and airplay on XFM and BBC 6 Music.
As of June 09 the band have been on hiatus so they can focus on university and other projects.
