Day of Contempt are an Australian hardcore/metal band formed in 1997, they were originally part of the Adelaide, South Australia underground hardcore scene. The band are credited as being one of the pioneers of the hardcore/ metal crossover in Australia.
Day of Contempt toured Australia and North America several times, supporting the likes of One King Down, Hatebreed, Terror, H2O, Good Charlotte, Skinlab, Unwritten Law, 59 Times The Pain, Vision of Disorder, Frenzal Rhomb, Avenged Sevenfold, Plus many others. In mid 2004 the band based themselves in the Los Angeles/ Orange County Area. They released 2 EPs and One Full Length Album before disbanding in 2005.
Day of Contempt have announced a May/June 2009 Reunion. The band will head to Perth for 2 shows with Miles Away then take the stage with USA's Earth Crisis for 5 Australian dates. The 2009 line up features 4 members from the 1999 Where Shadows Lie era with the addition of Ben Loy from Adelaide metal band Cry Murder on bass.
Hey guys, I saw you guys open for Earth Crisis. Great to see you guys after so many yrs. Last time I saw you guys live was when you guys opened up for Skin Lab. I must say Saturdays performance at the Corner was amazing. You guys blew Earth Crisis away easily

Waited over 8 years to see you guys live. Finally received my chance at the Hi-Fi in Brisbane. You guys are what got me into the heavier stuff. I really enjoyed the show and given the chance to throw in some brutal vocals was awesome.
