On a grey winter's night in 2008, four strangers with no memory of their pasts found themselves united on a railroad bridge in Ann Arbor, michigan. The one thing they shared in common, unbeknownst to them, was that they had all died that year on the very same day. Through some freak supernatural occurrence, they had been resurrected and had crawled instinctively from their graves to the same spot. It seemed that some higher force had breathed life back into their slumbering corpses for one purpose: so that they would join together to create the most foaming, wig melting, rabid rockabilly ever played. They exist now as reincarnated vehicles for rock and roll, aching at all times to unleash their music from the netherworld. Persistently providing percussion is Al King. While in the midst of pummeling out a manic beat, he broke a drumstick which ricocheted with such velocity as to become lodged in his brain via the nasal cavity. Upon removal after his death, a hefty chunk of his cerebellum was dislodged, accounting for the zombie insistency of his rhythm. Thumping the bass is Joey Pot-pie. while riding his motorcycle through the plains of Canada, he stopped to quench his undying thirst for rum in a local honky tonk. His mouth, when not recieving alcohol, had a problem with talking too much, as proved to be the case that night when he roused the agression of a group of rowdy oil riggers. He was stabbed to death. His initial coaxing from the grave occurred upon smelling the gravekeeper's wife cooking a pot pie. Causing mind-blistering train wrecks on guitar is Casey Jones. In a heated practice session one day he played so feverishly that he overloaded the circuitry and died by electrocution, but not before he saw in the mirror, to his great satisfaction, his pompadour turn stark white. On vocals, channeling yodels from bad places in the spirit world, is Timbuk Tularemia. After rambling over North America for years by freight, he was booted off a train by a railroad bull in the wilderness of British Columbia and left to fend for himself. Accustomed to a diet consisting mostly of roadkill, he went for what he knew and picked off a squirrel for dinner. But it was a carrier of the dreaded plague-like squirrel disease after which he is named: tularemia. He perished after a series of fitful convulsions by his campfire in the mountains. One can only conclude that The Dead Ringers are on a mission from God, or the deity of your choice. providing them an opportunity to play is looked upon favorably by all higher forces and increases one's chance of a pleasurable afterlife, if not, quite certainly the present moment.
