About me: My first novel, THE BELLY DANCER, will be published by Berkley Books in July 2009. It's the story of a young woman caught between her Victorian morals and a growing fascination with the scandalous Egyptian belly dancers who performed at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.
For updates, visit www.deannacameron.com.
This is the cover artwork for the novel.
I also blog about writing and publishing at http://DeAnnaCameron.blogspot.com.
And about belly dancing, mostly in Orange County, Calif., at http://ScribblingGypsy.blogspot.com.
If you ever head over to Facebook, you can find me there, too. I hope you'll stop by and say hi :-)
This summer I took a belly dance pilgrimage of sorts to what I consider the birthplace of American belly dance. I made this videologue to mark the trip
And now for something completely different, check out this great video of what belly dancing used to look like... before all the rhinestones and shiny beads.
Thank you for being a friend. I look forward to getting to know you.

Congrats! How exciting. I wish you the very best. Well as for me, I am still at IVC. This semester we are working on an entrance piece with veils and a routine. It is a lot of fun, but we miss you and other girls who are not in the class. Hope to see you soon. Please keep me updated on your book. :)
