Sounds Like
A surreal and arcane cosmic fear that tears at your mind as the world burns in a self-wrought end.
In early 2008, Forest of Fear was formed, going through various musical sub-genres as a final vision was slowly developing. Early incarnations included gothic doom/death, death/doom, and funeral doom, until Forest of Fear finally turned to a more extreme version of traditional doom metal. This vision has emerged as the primary structure, although dark folk music, black metal, and death/doom eventually entered the mix. Forest of Fear was renamed, and the new Decaying Citadel began the journey with its first demo of extreme doom, "Where the Ancient Bones are Laid to Rest" .
