About elektra

I started to listen to electronic music at the age of 20. There was a lot of ambient music, some techno and some trance. It all started at "house parties", spending the nights chilling out in atmospheres of relaxed, eclectic, earthly and electronical vibes... The music sessions always took place at a prepared environment, with comfort and atmosphere to do all the things that ambient invites us to: communication, laughs, relaxation, brain dancing and why not body...

The music got to me completely and listening to it with cool people, nice surroundings, good energy and sharing sense made it all look like cream on top of delicous strawberries...I found out that I really liked the kick of preparing these sessions, caring for the music, space and comfort, some deco, some lights, some ashtrays...

Like this Dreamlab-chilloutordie! was born in 1997, as a collective of 3 people dedicated to design and production of ambient areas and events. Since 2002 we adopted the name chilloutzone.org. We started to design and produce chill out/ambient areas in techno events, then trance, being our best and biggest portfolio the work done with Good Mood and Boom Festivals, since it's 98 edition. With their event concepts and support we had the means to present some of the best ambient areas, musicians and dj's. Since 2004 elektra and chilloutzone.org are also responsible for the Performances and Theatroom area at Boom Festival.

I really enjoy creating and producing events, and my projects and desires go into different directions, all united by the attempt to create moments filled with hedonism, awareness, performing arts and all the free expressions that human and nature can provide.

In 2000 I played as dj for the first time and I got to known how it is to be on the other side...I liked it a lot and decided to go on. I like to play psychedelic electronic atmospheres and show a little of ambient's diversity. I played in festivals, parties, club/bars and home/nature friendly gatherings in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Holland, India, Italy and Switzerland.

In 2004 chilloutzone.org got to fulfil a long time dream, the one of releasing an ambient compilation, "Ambient Planet vol.1", selected and mixed by dj high and released by Vagalume Records. 2006 was time for a second part and "Ambient Planet vol.2" was released by Flow Records and this time it was my turn to do the selection and mix.

I believe that ambient music has many purposes and places to be played. The future is starting already and the fact that ambient touches different kinds of people at different kind of scenarios makes a lot more possible...
