Parallèlement, Derrick May travaille sur des compositions personnelles et se fait connaître en 1987 sous les pseudonymes Rhythim Is Rhythim et Mayday avec des titres novateurs comme "Nude Photo", "The Dance", et surtout "Strings Of Life".
Derrick May revient sur le devant de la scène à l'occasion d'une tournée qui ne marquera que deux arrêts par la France.
Il sera accompagné ce soir là de la légende Française de la House Music DJ DEEP (Deeply Rooted House)

At Rock The Nation Sound, we don't deffend the "dagga" madness fiercely, but we think it's a part of the Dancehall culture. Reggae artists have always been singing songs with sexplicit lyrics, so we can't anderstand why they decide suddenly to erase a whole aspect of the Jamaican culture...
...while they don't ban Soca or Carnival music, which are related to the same topics. Hypocrites...
