Also, BOOK STUDIO TIME BY EMAIL: JIMBO.MATHUS@YAHOO.COM OR Just stop by and say "Hi" because at Delta Recording Service we are one of the few "main street" studios you will encounter. Anyone from A to Z can walk through the front door at any given time and make history. Proprietor Jimbo Mathus is available to produce your new CD and play with you. You may have heard of his past projects such as the Gold and Platinum selling vaudeville band, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and guitarist for Buddy Guy's "Sweet Tea" and "Blues Singer" CD's. Lately, Jimbo has also written songs and recorded with North Mississippi All-Stars, Jim Dickinson, South Memphis String Band, and Elvis Costello to name a few. Recorded Music changed the culture of America and the world in the 20th century, and much of that music sprang from the great state of Mississippi. At Delta Recordings Service, we pride ourselves on producing recordings that continue in this tradition, ranging from string bands to hip-hop and all points in between. No matter what, we always keep the instruments real and prefer humans playing music with humans rather than computer. We use all tube Telefunken and Universal Audio preamps to get that distinctive "sound" that producer Jimbo Mathus is known for all over the world. We prefer the classic RCA 77 and RCA 44 ribbon microphones which were used on everything from Sun to Stax to Hank Williams back in the day. The real treat is Jimbo Mathus's collection of random vintage electric guitars and amplifiers. We have an in house organ with leslie, drum set, piano, and upright bass. GOD BLESS MISSISSIPPI AND PASS THE ANTISEPTIC ! Jimbo Mathus
