"Impressive; a glorious merging of surging stop-start guitars, crisp funk beats and bubbling studio effects. Deltasound are an exciting new act with an already distinct sound of their own" Pennyblack Music
"Deltasound are a shining beacon of North East excellence, and have really captured their epic, all-conquering sound (on these tracks)" Sandman Magazine
"An interesting mix of funk and stop-start guitars. Hints of Head Automatica drift through these songs where funk and upfront guitars can live and breathe together. More rough edged rock than polished pop, Deltasound have started off on an original route. " isthismusic.com
"Coming on like The Cooper Temple Clause having overdosed on "Nu-Clear Sounds"-era Ash" The Crack Magazine
"Deltasound have a great knack for tight, punchy arrangements and irresistibly catchy choruses.
" Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
"Disco-rocker 'Attachment's chorus is a firm-slap of melodic power which builds into a series of crescendos. An utterly brilliant song. 'Slipstream' develops quickly into an indie-stomper, with an edge to the verse and another hooky and melodic chorus. The final song, 'Psychodelic' is the most impressive. It still houses a danceable beat, but it's less predictable and has the strongest chorus. The potential here is a palpable force" The Mag
"'Angel From Heaven' is one hell of a sweet song. To put it simply it's beautiful. The vocals are haunting and Jonjo's voice seems to just get into your head and float around there. The music fits incredibly well with the lyrics, which all in all paints a pretty picture." Sunderlandmusic.com
Deltasound formed in the North East of England as 2006 died. Described as “a glorious merging of surging stop-start guitars, crisp funk beats and bubbling studio effects” by Pennyblackmusic, their first EP is available free from www.delta-sound.co.uk/music. Building on the popularity of ‘EP1’, the band were back in the studio six months later recording ‘EP2’, which received critical praise and was released internationally via NDN Distribution and on limited run CD domestically. ‘EP2’ was picked up by Tom Robinson who played lead track ‘Attachment’ on his BBC 6Music show, describing the band as having ‘a great knack for tight, punchy arrangements and irresistibly catchy choruses’. 2008 saw a glut of live shows as far afield as London, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Nottingham and Glasgow as well as festival appearances at FuturePerfect, Sunderland Live and Green Gathering. Third single 'Dust Can Explode' was released in October 2008 to coincide with Deltasound's first UK Tour. They are presently making final preparations to move into a secret underground complex to make their their debut album.

Ah congratulations about the baby and marriage! Sounds like you're about to have a lot on your plate!
Yeah, I'm averaging about a gig a month in York which is lovely. I think you're talking about Basement City Screen - yeah, it's a bit of an odd place, and can sometimes have questionable clientele, but there's loads of cool people there, and gigs going on every night. Fibbers is cool too, again has lots of gigs on and I've even played one there myself. Not much else around in York unfortunately, but it's more than enough to keep me busy. Hope to get doing some gigs outside of York, will get to Sheffield and Leeds sometime soon I hope!
Yeah, I believe I am! should be good to see em again. Yeah, things are going ok, busy as every with the PhD in York, but still finding a bit of time to do the ol' music thing. Had a bit of a scare, my laptop crashed at the end of last month, but got everything sorted now (hopefully!). How's tricks with you?
good to hear you'll be gigging again. Yo, if you're not busy, come down to Head of Steam on thurs 24th, I'll be playing! doors at 8, though not sure when I'll be playing... should probably find out all that jazz...
