Going as far back as '80 this band is built on the leftovers of:
Shrivel Up Band (Heavily inspired by Devo) '78-'83)
Hit Cocks (Same shit, different drummer) ('83-'85)
Windy Willows (More left leftovers) -> 90's
De Mente (90 something -> till we die)
We play funny songs in english, german and danish.
We have our origin in a little town in Denmark called
Vester Skerninge. We have known and continue to
know a lot of the people, who had that remote place
rockin from around 80'.
De Mente has played at several odd occasions in the
near environment and we have at least on one occasion
payed to play a gig - if we have fun, then so will the
audience.
Our lyrics are often blunt words to an empty sidewalk,
but when said in german, it gets rather funny,
considering our capabilities.
We also use danish letters for the german - we think it
matters less, who cares for umlauts when You can add
the whole she bang on a danish keyboard.
This shows in titles like:
- Yberhauptmann
- Gnædige frøylein, kann ich ihre batterien beryhren.
- Transvestit in transit
- Ich kann dir nicht helfen
