In the summer of 2000, Destruct-a-thon erupted from mildew soaked basement in Allston, MA. They played their first show on July 14, 2001. Since then, they rocked 116 shows all over the East Coast U.S., released two EPs and one full length record on their own label (Thrashachusetts), and even kicked it live with The Bronx, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Seemless, Tree, The Freeze, Kylesa, and the late great Cracktorch
Killing it like they mean it, Destruct-a-thon is primarily known for their intense live performances. Michele Morgan delivers furious guitar riffs and sultry vocals. Eric O’Brien slams the drums with total groove and fast paced insanity. Sean Linehan attacks with the low-end thunder of the bass. Duncan Wilder Johnson’s “mental patient on crack” stage presence leaves audiences in absolute fear and crazed enthusiasm.
Since the release of their last EP (“Aloha Jihad” in the spring of 2008), the band garnished praise in East Coast newspapers and international metal and punk blogs. A ten show/nine day tour further honed their live set. Currently, Destruct-a-thon is writing a full-length record, which will slaughter with the heat of 10,000 suns when they’re finished.
