Self proclaimed "rock n roll cheerleaders for DEVO", Chezza Zoeller and Ezza Silberstein starting whipping up DEVO for the masses in October 2004. Together, they choreograph dance moves and special effects in DEVO inspired clone costumes, keeping the performance fresh with a new costume theme each performance. After a Spinal Tap experience of rotating musicians, DEVA has at last [de]evolved as a chick fronted DEVO cover band with the sole purpose of alluring wandering Spuds, Spudettes, Mutants and Spud newbies to the message of Devolution. Chezza and Ezza are joined by special effects extraordinaire Rob "Moogie" Bose on Keys, Matt "Goon" Wright on guitar, Claude "N-oog" Bauschinger on bass and Japa on drums.
"Few would have guessed they would not only still be remembered, but also spawn clones. Deva, the result of this cloning, celebrates a year of re-creating the sight and sounds of the very misunderstood Devo." Aber, Village Voice

DEVA filmed a music video for MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network - www.mnn.org)
Just stopping by to say hello and give you some news. The new album 'Coolgilly and the Freakshow' from Centascope is now available worldwide from CD Baby and directly from the merchandise page of the official website. You can also get the album from Apple iTunes, MSN Music, Rhapsody, Napster, Amazon and many more.
Frogwomen’s last album is just water under the bridge and only the disrespectful de large could encourage him to create a new one… it is a one-song record which symbolically lasts 66. 6 minutes. Satan worshipping and overused topic in pop music is just the straw that allowed the struggle between the two artists to begin: a patchwork of microsongs in which each one of them tries to annihilate the other’s style, a record that ranges between love ditties, doom-noise cants, and irreverent & wild tarantellas (ehm.... maybe i’m overstating now). .
Hey everyone, I hope this finds you all well…
We're excited to announce that the new Meanwhiles record Slow Motion Summer in all it's bleary-eyed, indie-rock glory is now printed, packaged, produced, posted online, and in all ways.. available.
The CD features Alan Weatherhead playing pedal steel guitar and orchestral samples on “Whenever You Need Me,” and Nadine Khouri singing subway-tunnel echoed vocals on “Dreams From the Underground.”
Limited edition, hand painted CDs by Todd Allen, standard CDs in cases, high quality MP3 downloads and free listens available on our myspace page or at Meanwhiles. com through PayPal.
Those of you in NY can pick up a copy this Sunday at Rebar in DUMBO, Brooklyn where Todd and I will be playing an intimate set at 8pm.
Got some good things planned for the near future… videos, tours, collaborations, live MP3s, and new songs begging to be recorded. Check out Meanwhiles. com for details…
Thank you as always. We hope you can take a listen.
“Keep on the sunny side,”
Josh/Meanwhiles
Dear DEVA,somehow I didn..t make it yet to thank you for the add ,I..m relly pleased and by the way - the fact that your Keybordwizzard calls himself Moogie-Boy is so incredibly funky - I can only name it this way - poetic kind of true devotion. Cheers Chester
