International violin virtuoso Oliver Lewis was hailed by the New Zealand media as ‘The fastest fiddler from the west. His phenomenal world record breaking speed in "The Flight of the Bumble Bee" is unmatched by any other violinist. Making his concerto debut as a child prodigy at the age of 12, he went on to win scholarships to the Purcell School of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and the Berne Conservatoire. He made his sensational European debut playing Ravel’s Tzigane and Bruch’s G minor Violin Concerto as soloist with the Bern Symphony Orchestra. Since then he has gone on to perform world wide as a soloist with many of the world’s greatest orchestras.

Dave studied classical piano from the tender age of 4, but after some years discovered his father’s guitar and turned to the dark side. After completing A levels and the customary degree in Art + Design, he became a professional musician. Dave began his musical career playing with best friend John Deacon, the bassist of Queen, in several different bands. When the magic of touring began to lose its charm Williams opened his own recording studio and became a songwriter for Warner/Chappell.
Dave became the Music Director for the long running international smash hit Spirit of the Dance, which has four touring shows in the US and two international touring groups. Formed in 1996, Spirit of the Dance is a foot-stomping international production featuring a spectacular display of traditional Irish culture that has thrilled audiences all over the world.
Williams’s own compositions have most recently been performed by Oliver Lewis and broadcast to over two billion people in Asia.

deviationsPROJECT is a British electronic music group comprised of producer Dave Williams and international violin virtuoso Oliver Lewis.
Dave and Ollie first met in 2001 at Wembley Arena (London), for rehearsals of a Christmas special version of Spirit of the Dance. They soon became good friends and later in the year, decided to collaborate, mixing the beauty of classical melodies with modern textures and rhythms.

The duo's self-titled first album blends elements of classical music with electronica; pieces such as Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”, Bizet’s “Carmen” and Bach’s “Sonata in Gm” are recreated with modern music technology. Contemporary compositions, including Dave William’s own songs, John Williams’ “Theme From Schindler’s List” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Albatross” are integrated with the classical works on the group’s first full-length release, a self-titled LP.

Never take someone for granted Hold every person close to your heart Because you might wake up one day And realize that you lost a diamond While you were too busy collecting stone.
