In the festivals eight-year history, Dfest has garnered the attention of music industry media powerhouses such as Billboard, Spin Magazine, FuseTV and the Grammy Awards Foundation, while at the same time forging strategic partnerships with music industry executives and scouts. The powerhouse combination of the festival’s national headliners and up-and coming artists has made it one of the country's hottest destinations for new music.

Past Dfest performers have included headliners The Flaming Lips, The Roots, The Black Crowes, Cake The All-American Rejects, Disco Biscuits, Metro Station, Leon Russel, Citizen Cope, Ozomatli, Bassnectar, Ghostland Observatory, Paramore, Gogol Bordello, Shiny Toy Guns, moe., The Cool Kids, Zappa Plays Zappa, The Apples In Stereo, Helmet, Clutch, Dengue Fever, Amos Lee, Phantom Planet, The Veils and Joe Pug.
Founded in 2002 by local musicians, Dfest has quickly grown to become one of the nation's premeire destinations for new and emerging artists. In 2010, Dfest will attract over 60,000 fans to it's intimate, downtown festival setting. Within the four city blocks of Downtown Tulsa’s Blue Dome District, the event features well over 100 artists, in 9 locally owned venues and on one large outdoor stage. Now in its ninth year, the cornerstone of Dfest has become the event’s diversity, with local, regional, national and international acts who represent over twenty genres of music.
