ANDREW W. K.
Rock Musician & Motivational Performer
Andrew W.K. was born Andrew Wilkes-Krier in Stanford, California, and was raised in Michigan. A piano player since the age of five, he spent his high school years playing in bands, and after graduation, in an effort to expand his creative endeavors, moved to New York City in 1997.
After playing numerous solo gigs, word spread around New York and Europe, and was signed to a record contract with Island Def Jam Records. In 2001, his first album, I Get Wet, was released. Critically acclaimed, Andrew appeared on magazine covers across the country and the globe, including NME, which featured him twice. After the release of the album, he was featured in GQ, Rolling Stone, Spin, Q, New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, the New Yorker, and others, all of whom agreed that with his arrival on the music scene, rock music had a new influence.

DFEST CONFERENCE AND FESTIVAL:
Dfest Music Conference and Festival showcases 130+ artists of the best emerging independent artists in the country including Oklahoma, Regional and National artists over eleven stages in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the day, conference registrants learn and network of a full day of music industry panels, clinics, tradeshows, mentoring and artist one-on-one opportunities about the latest in the music industry at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Dfest is also a tool for artists and business people to promote themselves. This can work on the level of unsigned artists looking for various kinds of deals -- record deals, publishing deals, agency deals, management deals -- up to more established artists who are promoting a new project.
By selecting artists as widely as we can in terms of music genres, there's an audience for just about every type of music you can think of.
The Eight Annual Dfest 2009. The conference panels, clinics and tradeshow will be held at the beautiful downtown Crowne Plaza Hotel. The festival will showcase over 130 artists in the beautiful BLUE DOME DISTRICT located in the heart of Downtown Tulsa and seconds from the hotel.

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Publish artist interviews in English to http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazineInterviewsEnglish , interviews in French to http://groups.myspace.com/InterviewsAvecCountryMusicStars and interviews in German to http://groups.myspace.com/CountryMusikInterviews . All these groups on MySpace are part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German.
