I stated as a poet and dancer with improv performance groups around my home town Toowoomba in Australia. Many nights of 4 track adventures and altered states. In 1991 I saw the Butthole Surfers perform live and nothing was the same again. I quite my job and moved to Sydney to take up the life of a Bohemian Art Object. From 1991-1995 I practised being a bohemian poet (with sitar) around Surry Hills, Glebe, Newtown, Petersham and Redfern in Sydney.
I performed at the 'What is Music' festival in Sydney in 1995 at the Harbourside Brasserie.
In 1995 I joined the performance art group Senslesss after hearing Mark Pauline of Survival Research Labs speak at Sydney College of Art. We made huge sculptures and played them with fire, film, costume, instruments and acrobatics in art happenings.
In 1996 I hitchhiked around Tasmania on a self financed busking tour with my music commrade Dan. I later travelled as a vagabond musician in New South Wales and Queensland in Australia.
I travelled to India via Thailand in 1996 and 1997. In India I stayed with Buddhist monks in Ladakh, studied astology in Dharamsala and Indian Music and yoga in Varanassi. I stayed 3 months in a huge house on the banks of the Ganges with Rainbow travellers from all over the world (Nagwa).
At the end of 1997 I started travelling in Europe and North Africa. I busked in Spain, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and lived the whole of 1998 in Amsterdam (in de Pijp) as a street musician and squatter.
In 1999 returned to Australia and helped run a warehouse space for artists and musicians in Redfern, Sydney.
I moved to Sweden in 2000 and settled in Umeå in the far north of the country. My son Silas was born the same year and my second Benyamin was born in 2005.
I have been playing a lot since 2000 at festivals around the Sámi homelands of Lapland. I began a PhD in digital humanities in 2003 and perform much of my research in HUMlab a digital studio and research lab here at the university of Umea. I have released two solo CDs on musicyourmindwillloveyou recordings. I am a floating member of 6majik9 as well playing with local musicians here in Sweden. Some images of some playings

Även Konsten har en födelsedag. Lördagen den 17 januari fyller den 1.000.046 år, åtminstone om man skall tro den franske fluxuskonstnären Robert Filliou, som 17 januari 1963 fastslog att konstens fötts för en miljon år sedan, då någon tappade en torkad svamp i vatten… Oavsett om man tror på det eller inte, så firas Art's Birthday över hela världen 17 januari, och sedan 2007 även i Umeå!
Missa därför inte när Moonshake än en gång bjuder in till firande av Art's Birthday.Konstens födelsedag kommer att manifesteras på flera olika platser i Umeå under dagen och liksom förra året kulminerar firandet med en multikonstnärlig afton i Studion, Umeå Folkets Hus. En helkväll med film, ljudkonst, galna happenings, DJ:s, livemusik av norske kontrabasimprovisatören Michael Francis Duch till filmer med Fluxus-tema samt av Aron Hidman (gitarr, elektronik) och improvisationsgruppen Smulton,ett poesi-och-sångframträdande med paret Bengt Emil Johnson och Kerstin Ståhl, dans-och-berättarföreställningen "Tre platser" av och med Katarina Klingberg samt ett "live cinema"-framträdande (en blandning av konsert och multimedialt performance) av och med holländska filmaren och konstnären Iris Piers och ljudkonstnären Lindefelt…Varmt välkomna!!
