Digital Geist is a New York City-based electronic duo focusing on a blend of genres, often known for its mix of hard-driving beats and rhythmic atmospheres. It’s a partnership of electronic musician and visual artist Alex Kourelis and longtime collaborator Newt.
The project has evolved from humble experimental roots in 1999 to become a powerhouse in the electronic music scene. Digital Geist has released several critically acclaimed albums and remixes in addition to playing live at gigantic festivals like DEMF/Movement and the World Electronic Music Festival 2007 and 2008. With major releases available worldwide through distributors in 5 countries and iTunes digital distribution as well, DG has performed in Detroit, New York, Toronto, Buffalo, Albany, Rochester and everywhere in between!
In 2009 Digital Geist returns with a new masterpiece – Motorcade – which features 4 new songs and promises to be the prime example of DG’s sonic evolution! Available worldwide as of September, this digital-only release sets the bar once again for trance and rhythm in electronic music and sets the stage for more planned live shows!
Digital Geist has had two critically acclaimed releases (the album The Zero Engine and the new Motorcade EP) and several released and white-label only remixes and other work.
