As percussionist, he followed and participated of productions of famous artists such as João Donato, Tom Zé, Pena Branca & Xavantinho, Renato Teixeira, Zé Ketti, Frank Walter, Inezita Barroso, João Bá, Vidal França, Batatinha, Clementina de Jesus, Alcione, “Banda de pífanos de Caruaru”, “O Terço”, Berimbrown, Luis Wagner, Renato Borguetti, Osvaldinho da Cuíca,Marcos Suzano, Lumumba and Tião Carvalho. In the scene of international music he played with Bill Close and Kewin Welch. He made music direction for several dance spectacles of important choreographers, in the cinema, besides serving as sonorous track for some sets of documents presented in the television, His music also touched Cinema Producers. Dinho Nascimento already carried through some actions of together partner-educational-cultural to the Community in “Morro do Querosene” (guiding the Batuquerô, directing the Batucada de Bambas and co-ordinating Wheels of Capoeira and Workshops of Street). The Berimbum, berimbau of its creation with noise extra-low (gotten with contrabass rope), is mentioned with prominence in the encyclopedia "Popular Music of the World" published by Richard P. Graham and N. Scott Robinson, in Ohio, USA (www.nscottrobinson.com). " Dinho I know since he was of Arembepe Group, one of the precursors of what came to be the Axé Music. After the successful start with the album “Berimbau Blues” (Prize Revelation of the MPB in 1997) and the controversial and stimulant album “Gongolô” (in 2000), that had exceeded the borders of Brazil, Mestre Dinho Nscimento is finishing his new musical project: "SER HUM MANO". The new album of the percussionist, singer and Bahia´s composer, that has 30 years inhabits in São Paulo, is already in process and must arrive until the end of October 2005. In this album, that is being produced in independent form by Genteboa Label, voice, berimbaus and tambours bring the essence of roots music in the rhythms of capoeira, coco, samba de roda, maracatu and jongo, adding on it ingredients of world music (as funk and reggae). The “Berimbau trance” track, for example, has a taste of electronic music, typical "Trance" interpreted exclusively with acoustic instruments. “ SER HUM MANO” will come tempering with new features and some very special participation: the legend-alive one of samba, “Osvaldinho da cuíca”; consecrated percussionist Marcos Suzano and his precious pandeiro´s groove; the vital, firm blow flute of Toninho Carrasqueira; the subtle rank of scratchs of DJ Cia; the brief, direct and explicit lyrics of the rapper Sandrão (from RZO). ABOUT DINHO NASCIMENTO Been born in 1951 in Salvador/BA, Dinho had musical initiation very early, in the parties of street and popular manifestations. Later it started to frequent lessons of piano and musical theory in the Free Seminary of Music of the Federal University of Bahia. In 1973, with Chico Evangelista, Carlos Lima and Kiko Tupinambá, he start like professional forming the “Arembepe Group “ and in Rio de Janeiro making the opening of Gal Costa’s concert . In 1974 they go to São Paulo where they touch in the university circuit, they open the legendary show of "Novos Bahianos” in the Municipal Theater, are presented for minors of the FEBEM, liven up nocturnal houses and they record two CDs.
