Break dance,grafitti,scratch,robot voices,hard synths,live acts,turntables,808............... Zoran Lalic aka Direct Control (DJ and producer) was born in 1984 in Novi Sad (Serbia). It can be said at the right time. 1980s and 1990s were the years of hip-hop, electro funk, break dance, sratching, graffiti, and MCs. These years were the turning point in the life of D.C. While listening to good music of that time, watching break dance videos on music channels, and drawing graffiti he came under the influence of that culture and had strong desire to join that world. After some time D.C. became familiar with many musical genres.Finaly,there is a perfect combination. He found himself in breakbeat rhythm,flavoured with melodies of dark electro synth and robot vocals, in other words a musical genre known as Old and New School Electro. 2003 is the year when he started to DJ with alias DJ Direct, but very quickly after that he forms project Direct Control. With alias Direct Control, he successfully acomplish the basics of music production and uses several of his finished tracks as demo tracks for world labels. First time his name on 12” vinly release appeared on compilation of very respected and successfull German label “Das Drehmoment”. His track “I Drive My Spaceship” after first listening became “hymn of Serbian electro”, and it was also accepted very nicely by world electro scene. With the help some of Serbian electro producers and DJ’s he became one of the founders of first Serbian electro label called “E75 Records”.
