Blasé (Christopher James O'Connor).. started rhyming in mid 2004 when two of his friends aquired turntables. They would freestyle and spin records for hours creating rough tracks on a performance Mic. The three met regularly with other friends who shared the same passion and later formed a hip hop group known as " The Den Dwellaz" consisting of Dj Tracksmith, Dj Stress,Mc Blasé ,Mc Invada Z and Grandeur (producer).
In early 2006 Blasé .. entered the preliminaries of the first Australian Scribble Jam Battles, and fought his way to a respectable fourth place for NSW. Scribble Jam kick-started Blasé ..s career, and he began performing at Nurcha Records promoted shows around NSW with MC Embark as "Known Methods". During these shows he was flanked by Sydney DJ, Dphy, on the ones and twos and the team drew wide praise for their well constructed live show.
During 2006 he also toured extensively with Nurcha Records Phatchance, performing for the promotion of his solo LP (Ink Stains) due to be released 2009.
During his short career Blasé has performed alongside acts such as Bliss and Eso, Muph & plutonic, the Winnie Coopers, Phrase & Dj Flagrant, Spit Syndicate, Infalliable & Litigate, Hyjack n Torcha, Reverse polarities, Clandestine,Pez n 360, 3to2, Phatchance, Natural Causes, Dj Illa, Mind over Matter, Last credit, PK Crew, Double and Big Lou, Percee P and many more.
In 2007 Blasé .. vanished off the radar only apprearing to perform with Coptic soldier while he wrote his LP, "Avenues" which he wrote over six months. Recorded (in a week) and mixed at Nurcha Records studios by Phat Chance ( of natural causes) and mastered by Espa of Reality Cheque Production House, this Lp was aimed to sum up Blasé..s state of mind over the last few years. some of the tracks include: "Centerpoint" "This girl" Keep Moving" & ofcourse "Blasé .." and 8 other tracks that very few people have yet to hear.
AVENUES LP WAS RELEASED IN APRIL 2009.
Blasé has been working with producer Grandeur for 4 years (or more) so they both thought it was about time to team up to create and Lp of "EPIC" proportions. expect to see a fresh release from this duo hit the shelves by the end of 2009 or early 2010. Keep an eye out for any Ill-Afilliates releases or shows coming up. Support Australian Hip-Hop.
