We play rock and roll music influenced by the blues. Typically, there's just the five of us up there—we are looking for a piano/organ player though, if you know anybody. We've got a few more friends that play along with us from time to time—some horns and singers and the like—that's who we call The Rookery.
We've played a handful of venues around town. And we seem to have a reputation for putting on a pretty raucous show.
In March 2007, we released an album. If you want it, we just started giving it away. You can go over to www.DirtyRooks.com and download it for free. Tell your friends. People have said some stuff about that album. Those comments are below.
"[The Dirty Rooks] move the genre forward and deliver exciting music that spans decades and styles" Mike O'Cull, TAXI
"most satisfying is the sound of the blues in young hands that, rather than treating the music as a museum piece, twist it to fit the moment." (Illinois Entertainer)
"The Dirty Rooks burrow themselves underneath your nails, along with the dirt and scum and filth of the city streets. And they're good...rock n' roll hasn't been this drunk in a while."
Tom Lynch, Newcity
"pure, classic rock with some blues influence...” Dan Ocwhat, The Real Chicago
Influences
Led Zeppelin, The Band, The Black Crowes, The Rolling Stones, The Faces, Cream, and Joe Cocker

BLACK ROBOT Debut CD!! Featuring the singles "Baddass", "Cocaine" and "I'm in Love".
ALREADY AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.com!!!
Early reviews say: From the opening AC/DC inspired groove of “Cocaine” , a wickedly arranged cover of J.J. Cale’s narcotic classic, Black Robot serves instant notice with their self-titled debut that not only do they have it, they damn near destroyed the laboratory to get it. This mechanical/musical beast was conceived and constructed for the divine, ultimate destruction of brain cells, ear fibers and false perceptions about what it truly means to rock as if our very survival as a race depended on it. -Lonn Friend
