7-11 nacho cheese, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Colgate ads, Misc meat products, Perverted Gym teachers, Girls who ride horses, Pain, Radio controlled boat clubs, Newspaper pictures, Evil satellites that make people crazy, Every band both good or bad that has caressed our ear drums, Karl Rove, my goldfish, your beautiful eyes that are reading these words ------------
No band in their right mind likes to write their own bio. It comes off as derivative, or cheesy, or self-aggrandizing, or sometimes just incoherent. Usually all those things, and comes with a photo of three guys standing in front of a brick wall (one of whom is looking away from the camera.)
But you gotta write it because people are going to give you five seconds and they want to know if your sound is going to peel the paint off their walls, whether it's good music to make out with their girlfriend to, whether it's going to make their baby smarter just from listening to it in their crib, whether it will be the next big thing with the kids and sell a bazillion copies. And to all these questions I say simply: yes. Disastroid will do this for you.
Ok. People want genres and people want reference points, so here you go: Our singer/guitarist likes to call it "stoner rock for people with ADD." I think of it as part Melvins, part Minutemen, part Queens of the Stone Age. One of these days we'll ask the drummer what he thinks. Just remember, we want you to listen to it really, really loud.
An earlier incarnation of Disastroid released an EP in 2007; in our current three-piece lineup, we self-released a new album, "Life or Death", in October of 2009, and now we're just generally kicking ass around the Bay Area scene. But don't take our word for it:
"...Fucking awesome. The perfect mix of Harvey Milk, Jesus Lizard, Melvins, Nomeansno, and Danzig while tuning it to their own unique sound. It was everything good about rock music and what is good about rock music now. I highly recommend these guys and it was nice to be blown away by an opening band I had never heard a note from before."
- Speed Glue and Music, July 2009
"H.E.A.V.Y. What does that spell? Disastroid! Damn, I'm lazy. But they were, so I'm half right and half an idiot. I'll take those odds. The three piece dished out some of the most angular, jaunty, hard rock I've ever encountered, but that combination made more sense when they did it than it does on paper..."
- dothefeedback.com, July 2009
"Heavy, dark and moody, just like the Bay Area fog that makes summer feel like winter and a flannel shirt a must. Minutemen-style punk with original and cutting vocals bring it all together. This Frisco trio can groove or blast depending on how they feel or where the music takes them."
- Little Book San Francisco, September 2008
"That wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be."

So our Fu tour got a bit jumbled, ASG dropped off and It's Casual got caught in the office, but we cherry picked some good shows. Should double check the relax date with Eddie, he's pairing down to Saturdays there. -B- -717-
Hey, yep still in sf. Looks like you guys have some good shows coming up. I'm hoping to surf tomorrow evening and if there's time, try to stop by the Elbow Room to rock out with ya. I posted some of my music at myspace.com/paulcress. Check it out. It's a different myspace on accident.
