Formed in 1993 by Michel and augmented by an exhaustive cast of collaborators, live members and session players, Disjecta Membra's international reputation as "New Zealand's leading gothic band" has endured for well over a decade.
Disjecta Membra's most active musical period was from 1995-2000, with two early EPs, the 1997 debut album Achromaticia on Heartland Records (Aus) and Nightbreed (UK), the near-mythical lost album Sibylline Leaves and a number of compilation appearances resulting in tracks like Cauldron of Cerridwen and Skin Trade remaining 'classic goth' favourites to this day.
From 2000ish, output as Disjecta Membra became increasingly sporadic and took a back seat to Michel running the Mediatrix label with long-time friend and collaborator Jason Just, promoting events, and performing as a background member of various other bands and projects.
The label/company arm of Mediatrix was dissolved in 2005, although the family of collaborative artists remained in situ, and Disjecta Membra again commenced making live appearances and working on new recordings. A resurgance of interest followed an appearance on the well received She's Lost project (coordinated by Michel and Josh Wood of The Mercy Cage) in May 2007. As of 2008, live shows continue to attract old diehards and an emerging new generation of fans who missed the band the first time around.

Hello :D It's fine, no rush! Yeah, that makes sense, but just because you aren't well known doesn't mean that your band isn't ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVER HEARD!!! :DDDD
How do you guys come up with ideas for your lyrics?
