UK Label Couture delivers another of the three releases over the festive season, this time with some lovely Tech courtesy of Marlo.
This I really like. A deep, warm, meaty kick from the off, followed up by some nicely swung percussion pieces and an odd sparse bassline. Reverby-effected vocal pieces haunt the intro, looped over nicely and creating a fantastic feel. There’s not loads to this at this stage, but there doesn’t need to be - as it’s really well worked. The sidechaining of the pads sits beautifully, and the dark bassline retains the mood along the way. Three and a half minutes in sees the halfway mark and also the breakdown, where the vocal pieces pull things down – but only very briefly. The kick and percussion are then brought straight back in, with looped and gated vocals added straight after again before the outro. Excellent.

Dutch/Australian producer and DJ, MaRLo (Marlo Hoogstraten) aka Liquid M, has played the biggest stages Australia has to offer.
