静岡生まれ、トラックメイカー/DJ。ヒップホップのコア、サンプリングを主軸に
「音楽と日常の共存」をテーマに掲げ、日々活動中。
『 The Music is Any Moments in Life 』、 生活していく中で感じた事を音で表現し、
自らの音がリスナーの生活の中に居る事を願っている。
“眠りにつく直前の安らぎ” “本を開くときの凛とした気持ち”。
そんな風に場面と心情との関連性を重要視して音を創り上げる。
「DJ OKAWARI」という名前は、常に満足することなく、常に新たなものを模索し、
常に挑戦し続けるところに由来する。
2008年5月にデビューアルバム「DIORAMA」をリリース。
ジャジーでムーディーでエレガント、キラキラしたセンチメンタルなこのアルバムは、
リスニングミュージックとして昇華されたヒップホップの新たな指針として
幅広く好評を博している。
その後もFive Deezとの共演、Grand Gallery Presentsによるコンピレーション 「Melancholy」に久石 譲やCalm、Daishi Danceなどと共に楽曲が収録されたり、
Hip Hopとクラシックの融合を目指したコンピレーション「dulcet 2」に参加したりなど、
精力的な活動を続ける中、2009年6月には早くも2ndアルバム
「MIRROR」のリリース。DJ OKAWARI印とも言うべきジャジーで
エレガントなヒップホップに女性シンガーによる英語詞での歌をフィーチャーし、
新たなる地平線を望むその動向には、今から大きな注目が集まっている。
